#GodSavingGrace!

#GodSavingGrace - Salvation is the clear immediate context of today's text. The workings of God in us unto saving grace are carried out by God the Holy Spirit as we obediently submit to and apply the truth of the Gospel in our lives. This is the same as working in the Spirit (Galatians 5: 16-17). Clearly then, today's text does not mean that God overrides our free will. No, but in agreement with our human will (when we choose God), God works in us to will and work for his good pleasure, that is our new birthday, our spiritual transformation, our growth in Him and ultimately our glorification when we see Him face to face. This doesn't mean that we are co-authors of our salvation. No, salvation is entirely the work of God. But this work cannot begin, progress and reach its climax without our consent, faith and concious choice to live for Him (Matthew 13: 55-58; Mark 6: 3-6).

#TheGoodShepherd!

#TheGoodShepherd - These are the words of a shepherd boy turned king-prophet. In Psalm 23, He is equating his relationship with God to that of a shepherd and his sheep. In doing so David is giving us unique insights into the character of God whom he knew so well as an anointed prophet.
Verse 6 tell us that a lifelong walk with Jehovah shall guarantee us Goodness and Mercy because these qualities are essential components of Adonai Shalom, Yahweh, God.
Read Exoďus 33: 17-23.
God is Good! Draw near Him today and experience mercy through an unconditional acceptance as a child (provided that you choose Him the way He chose you). Amen!

#WhoseGloryAreYouAfter?

#WhoseGloryUAfter ? - Have you ever paused to ask yourself the question to know the ultimate purpose of all your life's pursuits. Paul here is writing to a childish, boastful church where majority of the believers there did everything in pursuit of their own glory. Their pride and boastful attitude didn't limit itself to their secular pursuits. No, they brought these damaging attitudes and competitive spirit in the life of the church, even in their spiritual pursuits. Does this sounds familiar? Yeah! This is the church around the corner, right? This should not be!
If I am to boast I will boast in Christ, I will boast in my weaknesses and I will boast in the grace and mercies of God. Not only at church but in my daily living too. Sole Deo Gloria!

#ThisIsOurGod!

#ThisIsOurGod - God is an expert at mending hearts because through the crucifixion of His Son Jesus Christ, He has experienced brokenheartedness as both God (the Father turning His back on the Son) and Man (the Jews rejecting Messiah). Psalm 22: 12-21 expresses this reality so vividly.
So if today you have a broken heart, I want you to know that you have a friend in Jesus. Come to Him right now through Scripture and the fellowship with other saints. Yes, the saints, meaning true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ alive today, A.K.A the Church.
As the body of Christ, one of our spiritual missions is to heal the broken heart and bind up the wounded souls with the help of the Holy Spirit. We cannot be part of Christ's body if we are causing brokenheartedness instead of mending and healing the wounded spirits.

#FaithProclamation!

#FaithProclamation - Did you know that this statement of Moses was in response to the people's clamor before He even consulted with God? Because in the next verse we are told that God tells him not to cry out to Him but rather to lead the Israelites forward through the sea, on dry ground.
Even without a word from God, Moses knew God's nature well enough to have the confidence to proclaim the deliverance of his people even before being given the strategy of this battle. The knowledge of God is essential to triumph over adversity. God is a finisher. He has not brought you this far to let you down or let you drown. Hope in God and trust His character in the eye of your storm.

#ReligionVsRelationship!

#ReligionVsRelationship - this is what this text is all about. God offers us a relationship with Himself through the person and ministry of His only begotten Son - The Messiah, Jesus of  Nazareth. His ways and methods are easy, simple, lifegiving, uplifting and never burdensome. Religion on the other hand has always been fallen Humanity's misguided attempts to relate to God and serve Him through a number of rules, regulations and rituals inspired by satan and practiced with fear (not joy), causing heaviness in the mind and hearts of those practicing them.
In your spiritual walk, where would you say you are? In relationship with God or in the religions of men? Come out of them my people! Know the Lord today.

#TheHumanHeart!

#HumanHeart - The worse advice to give to an unbeliever is "follow your heart."
If the Human Heart without Christ is deceitful above all things, following one's heart will be playing right into the hands of the deceiver - Satan. This has been his strategy - "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." This satanic rule is translated today into do your own thing (Generation X), be yourself (Millennials), follow your heart (Generation Z).
The result is that iniquity and rebellion against God's law has filled the earth. Everyone everywhere is encouraged to follow their hearts devoid of God! Here lies Humanity biggest problem, sin in our heart. The only remedy to this is Faith in Christ. Come to Jesus and be reconciled with God.
